Secretary of State Michael R. Pompeo met today with German Defense Minister Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer in Berlin. Secretary Pompeo and Defense Minister Kramp-Karrenbauer discussed issues of mutual concern, including Syria, Ukraine, Iran, Russia, and China. The Secretary and the Defense Minister highlighted the strength of U.S.-Germany cooperation, including through the NATO Alliance, and agreed that burden-sharing was essential to countering threats to Transatlantic security as well as global security.
