
The 76th Republic Day of India was celebrated with great fervour, featuring the iconic parade at Kartavya Path in the national capital, Delhi. The parade began with a salute of 21 guns to President Draupadi Murmu. Indonesian President Prabowo was the Chief Guest, and around 10,000 special guests witnessed the event.
This year, the Indonesian military contingent and band participated alongside contingents from Indian military and paramilitary forces under the command of Parade Commander Lieutenant General Bhavneesh Kumar. Tableaux representing 16 state governments and Union Territories, as well as 10 ministries and central government departments, showcased the theme of Swarnim Bharat (Golden India). Virasat (Heritage) and Itihas (History) were also highlighted as part of the parade.
The Constitution of India came into force on 26th January 1950. Since that day, the Republic Day of India has been celebrated annually across the country as a national festival.
