WireNews Expands Access to Professional Press Credentials with Affordable Annual, Five-Year and Lifetime Options

WireNews Limited today reaffirmed its long-standing commitment to independent journalism by promoting its International Press Card programme, a professional credential designed to support journalists, contributors, commentators, and media professionals operating across borders.

Established in April 2001, the WireNews press card has become a recognised credential used by working journalists and media contributors who require a clear, professional form of identification when engaging with public bodies, organisations, and events. The scheme is operated directly by WireNews Limited and is issued to applicants who meet the organisation’s eligibility criteria.

The press card is available in three straightforward pricing options: £95 per year, £425 for a five-year credential, and £1,125 for a lifetime press credential, representing the best long-term value.

Each credential package includes a laminated press card, a durable plastic cardholder, and a black lanyard suitable for daily professional use. In addition, all cardholders receive a free Contributor Account with WireNews, providing an opportunity to submit and publish original material. Holders of the five-year and lifetime credentials also benefit from a free replacement card issued every year, ensuring their identification always remains current and presentable.

“Journalism does not begin and end with large media organisations,” said Bill White, Director of WireNews Limited. “For a quarter of a century, WireNews has recognised and supported independent journalists, analysts, and contributors who play a vital role in informing the public. Our press card scheme is designed to be accessible, professional, and transparent, without unnecessary barriers.”

White added, “We deliberately structured our pricing to reflect real value. Whether someone needs a credential for a single year or wishes to make a one-time commitment with a lifetime card, the aim is the same: to support credible, responsible journalism.”

The WireNews International Press Card programme continues to attract interest from contributors across the United Kingdom and internationally, particularly among independent journalists seeking formal recognition without affiliation to legacy media institutions.

Applications are reviewed directly by WireNews, ensuring the integrity of the credential and the reputation of those who carry it.
