The U.S. Advisory Commission on Public Diplomacy (ACPD) will hold an in-person public meeting with online access from 12:30 p.m. until 1:45 p.m., Wednesday, May 15, 2024.  A panel of experts will review and discuss the Commission’s most recent special report, The Global Engagement Center: A Historical Overview 2001-2021.
This meeting is open to the public, including the media and members and staff of governmental and non-governmental organizations.  The event will take place at the George Washington University’s Elliott School of International Affairs (room 602), 1957 E St NW, Washington, DC 20052.  Please use this link to register to attend the event in person or virtually.
Congress created the bipartisan ACPD in 1948 to appraise U.S. government activities intended to understand, inform, and influence foreign publics. Â The Commission conducts research that provides honest assessments of public diplomacy efforts and disseminates findings through reports, white papers, and other publications. Â It also holds public symposia that generate informed discussions on public diplomacy issues. Â The Commission reports to the President, Secretary of State, and Congress.
