Supporting Torah at the Dawn of a New Year
Supporting Torah at the Dawn of a New Year

As Rosh HaShanah approaches, our hearts and minds turn inward—to prayer, reflection, and the solemn awareness that we stand before the King of Kings. These Days of Awe are a time of teshuvah (return), tefillah (prayer), and tzedakah (charity), the very three pillars that our sages teach can annul harsh decrees.

There is perhaps no greater merit than to link one’s tzedakah with the eternal voice of Torah study. In Yerushalayim, the Mir Yeshiva—Yeshivat Mir Yerushalayim—stands as a living testimony to Jewish endurance and renewal. The Mir is not just another institution; it is a beacon of light, a sanctuary of Torah where thousands of talmidim immerse themselves in sacred study, ensuring the unbroken chain of our tradition continues into future generations.

To support the Mir is to affirm that Torah is the lifeblood of Am Yisrael. It is to declare, through action, that our future is bound to the words of G-D spoken at Sinai and studied daily in the batei midrash of Yerushalayim.

As we prepare to greet the new year, I urge every Jew—whether near or far, whether observant in every detail or simply bound to our people through heritage and heart—to take part in this mitzvah. A donation to the Mir is not only a gift to the students who sit and learn; it is a gift to the entire Jewish people, for every moment of Torah study shields and elevates us all.

Let your Rosh HaShanah tzedakah carry eternal weight. Join me in strengthening Yeshivat Mir Yerushalayim, that its voice may continue to echo through the generations, unbroken and unyielding.

May we all be inscribed and sealed for a year of life, blessing, and peace.
