Uttarakhand has secured the top rank in the country in the Sustainable Development Goals ranking of NITI Aayog, earlier known as the Planning Commission of India.


According to Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, their state is an achiever in easy business and startups. The state has adequate infrastructure, air, road, and train connectivity. Obviously, eco-friendly and liberal industrial policies are among them.



Some of the major schemes promoted by the state government, such as One District Two Products, State Millet Mission, New Tourism Policy, Wed in Uttarakhand, and Solar Self-Employment Schemes, have injected new energy into the state economy through governance, administration, and public participation. The state government is planning to establish a textile park. There are vast possibilities for the development of Himalayan Fiber in the state.


Uttarakhand was formed on the 9th November 2000 as the 27th state of India. Located at the foothills of the Himalayan mountain ranges, it is largely a hilly State, having international boundaries with China (Tibet) in the north and Nepal in the east. In the north-west lies Himachal Pradesh, while in the south is Uttar Pradesh. Full of rich natural resources, especially water and forests with many glaciers, rivers, dense forests, and snow-clad mountain peaks. It is blessed with a rare biodiversity, inter alia, 175 rare species of aromatic & medicinal plants.



With rich mineral deposits, limestone, marble, rock phosphate, dolomite, copper, and gypsum. More than 25,294 small-scale industries give employment to 63,599 people.


Moreover, around 1802, heavy and medium industries invested 20,000 crore rupees, with a strength of 5 lakh employees. Most of the industries are forest-based. 54,047 handicraft units in the state. levels of literacy higher than the national average.
