Secretary Rubio’s Meeting with King Abdullah II of Jordan

ree

Secretary of State Marco Rubio met with His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan.  The Secretary and King Abdullah discussed bilateral and regional issues, including the situation in Gaza, as well as developments in the West Bank (Judea and Samaria) and Syria.  The Secretary emphasized the United States’ continued interest in working together on counterterrorism and expressed appreciation for Jordan’s cooperation in advancing regional security, stability, and prosperity.

Editor's Note: What Marco Rubio didn't do was demand that "the King" permit the extradition of the terrorist his country is harbouring—Ahlam Ahmad Al-Tamimi—who is responsible for the murder of American citizens, including children, in Israel. Al-Tamimi has been charged with participating in the August 9, 2001, suicide bombing at a pizza restaurant in Jerusalem that killed 16 people, including three United States nationals. Three other U.S. nationals were among approximately 122 others injured in the attack. An affidavit in support of Al-Tamimi’s criminal complaint and a warrant for her arrest were sworn under seal on July 15, 2013, in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia, and were made public on March 14, 2017.

Also, you can always tell which side of the issue someone is on, as it relates to Israel, when they call Judea and Samaria "the West Bank." The term "West Bank" refers to the west bank of the Jordan River and was coined by Jordan after its army invaded Israel following the creation of the modern State of Israel. This name was used by Jordan and Arab sympathisers from 1948 until 1967, when the IDF drove back the invading forces. Since 1967, the area has been rightly called Judea and Samaria—the name it held before the Arab invasion and the name it has borne for thousands of years. Referring to Judea and Samaria as the "West Bank" exposes one’s ignorance, bias, or both.
