Murder in Crumpsall: Yom HaKiPurim Desecrated

Murder in Crumpsall: Yom HaKiPurim Desecrated

On the holiest day of our year, when Jews across the world gathered in prayer and fasting, tragedy struck in Manchester. Worshippers leaving the synagogue in Crumpsall were attacked in the most brutal way: first by a car ramming through those gathered outside, then by a man who emerged wielding a knife. At least two innocent Jews were murdered, several more are critically wounded, and many others are left traumatised.

The symbolism could not be clearer. Yom HaKiPurim, a day meant to elevate us, was instead marked with Jewish blood spilled on the pavements of England. This was not chance. This was not “random violence.” It was an act of antisemitic terror, calculated and carried out to strike fear into the Jewish heart.

No More Excuses

For decades, successive governments in Britain — and across much of Europe — have welcomed into our countries those who openly despise our values and reject our way of life. They did so in the name of compassion, multiculturalism, or political expedience. And in return? We are given terror, hatred, and death.

How many more commissions of inquiry must be convened? How many more “studies” do we need? When Jews are murdered on Yom HaKiPurim in their own synagogue, there is no further research required. The lesson is written in blood. Invite those who hate you into your country, and they will, in time, act on that hatred.

This is not an abstract debate. It is not about “potential risks” or “community tensions.” It is about Jews lying dead outside a house of prayer. It is about children scarred for life, families torn apart, and a community shaken to its core.

The Failure of Leadership

Those in power today will condemn the attack. They will promise investigations, vow to “stand with the Jewish community,” and issue empty assurances. But let us be honest: these same politicians helped create the conditions for this atrocity. Their policies, their cowardice, their refusal to draw clear lines of cultural and moral defence — all of it made this inevitable.

You cannot water the seeds of hostility and then feign shock when they grow into poisonous fruit. You cannot embrace people who declare their hatred of Jews, then act surprised when Jewish blood is spilled in your streets.

A Call to Reality

The time for illusions is over. Britain and Europe must face a hard truth: not everyone who wishes to come here shares our values, nor do they intend to. Welcoming those who openly reject us is national suicide, plain and simple.

Security around synagogues and Jewish schools must be strengthened immediately. Immigration policy must be rewritten with honesty and backbone, not ideology. Those who cannot or will not accept the moral and cultural foundation of this land — including respect for the Jewish people — must not be permitted entry, and those already here who preach violence must be expelled without delay.

Standing Firm

To my fellow Jews, I say this: do not cower, do not bend, and do not hide. We have been through worse, and we remain. Our faith and our people have survived every empire, every tyrant, every attempt to erase us. We will survive this too. But survival requires clarity. And clarity requires us to name the threat for what it is — imported hatred, given shelter and excuse by the very governments sworn to protect us.

On Yom HaKiPurim, when we stand before G-D and confess our sins, we are reminded of our dependence on His mercy and strength. Today, in Manchester, the prayers of Jews rose alongside the cries of the wounded and the mourning of the bereaved. May the Almighty comfort them among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.

The lesson is before us. No more excuses. No more blind compassion without discernment. No more sacrificing Jews on the altar of political correctness.

Two Jews lie dead in Crumpsall. That is all the proof we should ever need.
