Hebrew Synagogue Announces Publication of its Seder Tefillot and Forthcoming Prayer and Study Collection

Hebrew Synagogue announces the publication of Seder Tefillot (Order of Prayers), a newly completed prayer book offering a fresh, accurate, and faithful English translation drawn directly from the original Hebrew. This publication marks the first volume in a wider and carefully structured collection of prayer and sacred texts currently in development.
Seder Tefillot has been produced with a clear guiding principle: fidelity to the original text. The English translation is neither interpretive nor paraphrased, but a faithful rendering intended to preserve meaning, structure, and intention as conveyed in the Hebrew. The work is designed for daily prayer, study, and reflection, and establishes the standard for all subsequent volumes in the series.
Alongside this release, Hebrew Synagogue gives advance notice of the forthcoming titles that will complete the collection. These include Seder Tefillot Shabbat (Shabbat Prayers), Seder Tefillot Moadim (Festival Prayers), Tehillim (Praises), and a dedicated volume of teachings from the Holy Zohar. Each work will follow the same rigorous translation methodology, with faithful English translations from Hebrew and, in the case of the Holy Zohar, from Aramaic.
Ram ben Ze'ev, Executive Director of Hebrew Synagogue, said: “Too many English editions sacrifice accuracy for readability, and in doing so they change meaning. Seder Tefillot was created to restore trust between the sacred text and the English reader. Our responsibility is not to reinterpret the prayers, but to transmit them faithfully.”
He added: “The forthcoming volumes—Seder Tefillot Shabbat, Seder Tefillot Moadim, Tehillim, and the Holy Zohar—will form a unified body of prayer and study. Together, they will provide English-speaking readers with access to our sacred texts without dilution or distortion.”
The Seder Tefillot collection represents a long-term commitment by Hebrew Synagogue to preserving the integrity of Jewish prayer and learning while making it accessible to those who rely on English. Further announcements regarding publication dates for the additional volumes will be released in due course.
