CBI Participates in Interpol Operation HAECHI-V

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) actively participated in Operation HEACHI-VI launched by the Interpol targeting seven specific type of crimes. Which includes cyber enabled financial crime, voice phishing, love/romance scam, online sex extortion, investment fraud, money laundering associated with illegal online gaming, business email compromise and e-commerce frauds.



During operation, international operations division of CBI closely coordinate with Federal Bureau of Investigation, US Department of Justice and Authorities of Germany. Arrested 08 offenders and identified 45 suspects involve in transnational cyber enabled financial crimes and subjecting the minor girls to sexual offences online. Cash amount of 66340 USD was recovered from the offenders and 30 bank accounts involved in the crime were blocked.

On the basis of their input CBI also busted and dismantled  a network of cyber-enabled transnational financial crime being operated through illegal call centres at New Delhi and Amritsar targeting US nationals online under pseudonymous identities and defrauding them under the guise of providing tech support services.


Cyber enabled crime network pose significant threat to the safety of citizen. As par of operation CBI rapidly identified and took action on the organised technology enabled crime networks in close coordination with Interpol and foreign law enforcement agencies.
