The Abraham Global Peace Initiative Proudly Welcomes Moses Znaimer to its National Advisory Board

About this picture: In 1948, the Znaimer family arrived by ship at Halifax's Pier 21. A photographer for the nationally syndicated weekend newspaper supplement and the most widely circulated magazine of its day, The Standard, took a photo of the young Moses coming down the gangplank; the picture appeared on the cover of the magazine above a caption that read, "DP with a future."

Canadian television trailblazer, Moses Znaimer is joining The Abraham Global Peace Initiative's (AGPI) National Board of Advisors. The board is comprised of top Canadian leaders who provide guidance to the recently founded organization.

Statement by Moses Znaimer: "I have been impressed with the work of AGPI over the last two years. This is an organization that is criss-crossing the world on our behalf to promote strong Canadian values. Avi is fighting Antisemitism and defending Israel and standing up for universal human rights. For this reason, I am proud to be associated with his new and innovative organization".

Statement by AGPI's Founding Chairman and CEO, Avi Abraham Benlolo: "Its an honour and a privilege to welcome Moses to AGPI. At a time when the world needs as many influential people as possible to counter Antisemitism, hate, and intolerance, having Moses on the AGPI team is critically important".

Statement by Simcha Jacobovici, Emmy Award-winning director, producer, investigative journalist, TV host and New York Times best-selling author: "I travel the world watching television and selling programs to the most important broadcasters on the planet (BBC, Discovery, National Geographic) and I must say, Moses has built VisionTV into the world's most prolific broadcasters of programs, exposing mass atrocities, religious persecution and intolerance around the world".

ABOUT MOSES ZNAIMER Moses was born in Kulyab, Tajikistan to parents who were on the run from the Nazis. Chaya and Aron were each the sole survivor of their respective families. In May of 1948, the Znaimers immigrated to Canada from a Displaced Persons Camp in West Germany and settled in Montreal. Moses first rose to prominence as co-creator of CBC’s Cross Country Checkup, Canada’s longest and still-running (call-in) radio show, and as a host of Take 30 on network TV. Today, Moses is best known for revolutionizing television. As the creator of two dozen independent locally-oriented news and specialty television channels including Citytv, MuchMusic, MusiquePlus, Space, Bravo!, and CP24, he disrupted the broadcast industry with his youthful urban style, multicultural and multiracial on-air reporters and presenters, original niche programs, videography, the multi-frame news channel screen, and his Streetfront Storefront Studioless operating system, all of which are still widely imitated around the world. Among Moses’ many honours are the Order of Ontario, The Governor General Performing Arts Award, the Republic of France’s Chevalier des Arts et Lettres, and a famous stretch of downtown Queen St. designated Moses Znaimer Way by the City of Toronto. Now, as Founder of ZoomerMedia, Moses combines media, content, and advocacy to champion the interests and needs of Canada’s 17.2 million people aged 45plus, and the generations that follow in their footsteps. He expresses his fight against antisemitism and for human rights through ZoomerMedia’s TV, radio, print, and digital properties including ZoomerTelevision, ZoomerMagazine, ZoomerRadio, and The New Classical FM. Recently, his reach into the younger demos was enhanced by the acquisition of blogTO and the Daily Hive.
