Nuclear Restoration Services (NRS) has donated essential food items, toiletries, treats and Christmas gifts to foodbanks across the UK that will help provide for families and individuals in crisis this winter.

Working with colleagues across the country from Scotland, Wales, South East and the South West of England, the donations will help create essential food parcels for those in need as well as bring some Christmas joy.

Over the years the UK has seen an increase in demand from those needing support, with more people than ever being driven to food banks.

Speaking on the organisation’s charitable effort, Director of Corporate Affairs at NRS, Emma Reynolds said:

Christmas is a time for giving, and NRS is proud to contribute to the foodbank’s mission of bringing hope and joy to those facing challenges. We believe in the need to support our communities, and our sites’ donations is a small way for us to make a meaningful difference during the festive season.

Foodbanks across the country have been serving local communities for many years, by providing vital food assistance and support for individuals and families experiencing hardship provide a lifeline for so many people.

Emma Reynolds added:

At NRS, we’re about more than just decommissioning nuclear facilities and are committed to helping and supporting the wider communities that are located around our sites and the surrounding areas. We know that the increase in people needing help is outstripping food donations in some areas, and we hope that these donations can provide peace and comfort for those struggling this Christmas, as well as ensure that as many people as possible can enjoy Christmas with friends and family without worry.
